Who or what is responsible for your work ethic?
I’m motivated by a personal sense of competition – I always want to see how far I can go and what I can accomplish. I also enjoy building businesses. This all gives me a strong discipline and work ethic.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Black liquorice.
What is the best book you would recommend?
The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous – a great overview for anyone that wants to understand the origins of money and the case for Bitcoin.
Now that you’re entering your 40s, what goals have you set for yourself?
I still have a few years to go before 40, but in my 40s I aim to have a healthy work-life balance and spend more time with family.

What was your toughest business or professional decision?
Selling a stable and successful business to focus full-time on a cryptocurrency startup, before anyone knew what Bitcoin was.
Advice you would give your 20-year-old self?
Think long term rather than chasing quick wins. The time goes by fast so set long-term goals and take little steps towards them each day.
What is your best habit?
Daily meditation. It sounds cliché but it has had a huge impact on every aspect of my life.
