For those who are reluctant to sacrifice luxury for performance, the new 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed may fit the bill.
Bentley Motors, which was founded almost a century ago, is touting its latest model as the “fastest ultra-luxury driving experience in the world,” and priced at 324,000 euros (or more than US$400,000), it is also the iconic company’s most expensive car ever made.
The automobile was unveiled ahead of one of the biggest car shows in the world – the Paris Motor Show – which runs from October 4 to 19.
The company said the machine has been crafted for the discerning driver, with a 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8, 530 bhp/395 kW, 1,100 Nm (811 lb.ft) and a reengineered powertrain.
The Mulsanne can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.
“We listen carefully to the needs and preferences of our customers and it is this approach that has made Bentley the most sought-after luxury car brand in the world,” said Bentley Motors CEO and chairman Wolfgang Dürheimer at the show October 2.
“We are the choice of many high achievers, independent thinkers, world leaders and royal families around the world.”
This is not an exaggeration, as car enthusiasts choosing to invest in a Bentley join the ranks of those such as Queen Elizabeth II and the Sultan of Brunei.
No word as to when the 2015 Mulsanne Speed will be available here in Vancouver…so a trip to Paris may be in order.
