Three B.C. export companies are finalists for a 2023 BC Export Award in clean technology.

This category recognizes a company that exports and uses technology and-or a business model that lowers costs, reduces the company's environmental footprint or waste and makes more efficient use of natural resources. The winner will be announced at an in-person daytime awards event Feb. 10 at the Terminal City Club.

The finalists are:

Ecoation

Ecoation Innovative Solutions Inc.

Ecoation offers an IPM and Yield Forecasting Platform that enables growers to minimize pesticide use and optimize the use of biological agents to control pests. It also allows growers to more accurately predict weekly harvests, which enables them to get optimal prices for their produce in the market. Ecoation technology is being used around the world with existing customers in Canada, U.S., Mexico, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy, and customers in the deployment queue in the Czech Republic, Croatia and Japan. Ecoation leverages the export reach of its internal sales team through sales channel partner agreements with global IPM giants Biobest and Plant Products.

Loop Energy

Loop Energy Inc.

Loop Energy Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of hydrogen fuel cell systems for the electrification of commercial mobility.

Terramera

Terramera PlantScience Inc.

Terramera develops unique formulations, delivery systems and high throughput screening capabilities for agricultural applications. Terramera’s vision is to become the leading global sustainable agriculture company by developing the next generation of agricultural technologies using the proprietary ActigateTM family of molecules, which can enhance the efficacy of natural as well as synthetic pest-control products. Several Terramera agricultural products based on neem oil have been approved by the EPA and are certified as organic. These are sold to growers and regional distributors in the U.S., and include Rango and Terraneem.

One of these three companies will be recognized with the annual Clean Technology Award, presented by StrongerBC, as part of the BC Export Awards, which take place in Vancouver on Feb. 10 and recognize excellence in exporting across eight categories.

The award recipient in each category is eligible to be recognized as the 2023 BC Export Awards’ Exporter of the Year.
