Vancouver’s Day4 Energy Inc. (TSX:DFE) is boasting about its turnkey manufacturing program as its first franchise partner opened the doors to a Day 4-branded solar panel manufacturing plant in Germany.
When running at maximum capacity, the plant, which is operated by Gebäude-Solarsysteme GmbH (GSG), is expected to produce 15 megawatts worth of solar panels annually and generate significant royalty revenue for Day4 Energy. Those panels are being integrated into GSG’s rooftop solar panel systems.
Day4 said it is a new vertical market for the company.
“Incorporating Day4 technology into new products for GSS clients, including roofing materials for construction and automotive applications, allows Day4 to leverage the longstanding relationships GSS established over the years in these market segments,” said Day4 president George Rubin in a release.
Day4’s franchise partnership program – known as solarSYSTEMS – enables businesses to manufacture, distribute and sell certified Day4-branded solar modules.
The North American introduction of solarSYSTEMS was unveiled earlier this month at Solar Power International in Los Angeles.
Rubin told BIV in an interview last August that the company has moved from being purely a solar technology developer to being a solar systems provider. (See “Revenue recovers for Burnaby solar technology company” – BIV Business Today; August 10)
Day4’s share price during the past week remained at $0.59; 52-week high: $1.02; 52-week low: $0.49.
