Richmond-headquartered Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (TSX,NYSE:RBA) has opened two new auction sites, one in Columbus, Ohio, and the second in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The two new sites are part of the company's plan to develop regional centres that have strong demand for unreserved auctions.
Ritchie Bros. now has 35 auction sites around the world.
The Columbus location, which is within a 500-mile radius of half the population in the United States, is targeted at customers in the U.S. Midwest.
The site's first auction generated more than US$29 million in gross sales.
Ritchie Bros.'s new permanent 20-acre location in Saskatoon opened to one of the largest unreserved agricultural auctions in Canada. It generated more than $14 million in gross sales.
