Glacier Ventures International Corp. (TSX:GVC) has bought an Edmonton-based oil and gas publishing group for an undisclosed amount of cash and preferred shares.
Glacier affiliate GVIC Communications Corp. (TSX:GCT) will acquire the assets of JuneWarren Publishing Ltd. on January 1, 2008. The deal will complement GVIC's Nickle's Energy Group, which publishes the Daily Oil Bulletin, the Canadian Oil Registry directory, the New Technology Magazine, the Rig Locator and The Profiler.
JuneWarren publishes the Canadian Oilfield Service and Supply Directory, Oilweek, Oil and Gas Inquirer, Oilsands Review, Alberta Construction Magazine, the Canadian Oilfield Gas Plant Atlas and other custom publications.
Glacier Ventures' stable of Canadian weekly and daily newspapers has a combined distribution of more than 1.3 million. It also owns Business in Vancouver Media Group.
