Vancouver-based yoga and wellness company YYoga this morning announced plans to expand the company in Vancouver and into Toronto.
The expansion will be supported by a $9 million capital raise led by institutional investors Fiore Capital Corp. and Beedie Capital Partners.
“We are thrilled to expand the YYoga community right here at home in Vancouver and can’t wait to provide an environment centred on wellness, committed to quality and rooted in community in Toronto,” said YYoga CEO Terry McBride.
Founded in 2007, the company operates seven centres throughout B.C., running more than 700 classes per week. It will open two new Vancouver locations in the next 12 months.
“We are very pleased to be participating in this current round of financing for YYoga, said Beedie Capital managing partner Randy Garg, who will be joining the board of YYoga.
“As a previous early investor in the company, we have been very impressed by the levels of growth seen in each of the current centres and firmly believe the platform is now uniquely positioned for expansion into other key markets.”
