Burnaby is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver and Grand Villa Casino Hotel & Conference Centre is Gateway Casinos & Entertainment’s flagship property. Featuring a spectacular two-level casino, a luxurious hotel and multiple food and beverage outlets including a premium dining option, this facility has been designed to meet all entertainment needs.

This year, the casino and hotel saw a $15 million renovation. There have been improvements throughout the casino, including an increased slot count, high-limit table games expansion and a new poker room, along with new carpet installation. The newly improved gaming floor offers 60 tables games, 10 poker tables and 1,200 of the newest and most exciting slot machines.

“This spectacular $15 million renovation of our flagship property will bring even more incomparable customer experiences to Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby,” said Tony Santo, CEO of Gateway.

In August, CHOW Lucky Noodle Bar was added to the vast food and beverage offerings of the facility. CHOW offers delicious, fun and exciting wok-fried creations from its fiery open kitchen. Its imaginative dishes range from zesty to the ultimate umami.

The Delta Hotel saw the addition of ATLAS Steak + Fish in October, with the grand opening taking place in November. ATLAS is a flirtation and modern twist on the North American steak house. It is an exceptional dining facility with uncompromising service, preparation and presentation. Its incomparable commitment to quality and elegant simplicity is unwavering. Offering approachable indulgence in an inviting and welcoming way, ATLAS is sophisticated yet familiar and unpretentious. Its focus on the little details, from a chilled fork to the fresh cut flowers, exudes its commitment to being exceptional every day. Selecting only the finest ingredients and the best cuts of Alberta Angus Reserve Beef and USDA Prime speaks to ATLAS’ passion for delivering only the best to its guests.

The Delta Hotels Burnaby features 195 luxurious guest rooms and suites and is a popular destination for both leisure and business travellers. Its accommodations balance the need to work and the desire to unwind. Offering over 12,000 square feet of meeting space to accommodate meetings, events, trade shows, weddings, special occasions and conferences, the hotel is perfectly complemented by the casino. The hotel is looking forward to guest room renovations, which are scheduled to be completed by spring 2018.

Given the major focus on elevating the customer experience through dining and entertainment, Gateway and Grand Villa are excited to announce the addition of their executive food and beverage manager, chef Sylvain Cuerrier. Chef Cuerrier is a Red Seal certified chef and a certified chef de cuisine. A strong believer in education and the mentorship of young and upcoming chefs, chef Cuerrier has been involved with the Canadian Interprovincial Red Seal Program and the British Columbia Industry Training Authority for well over a decade. Most recently, he became a chef instructor at Vancouver Community College, where he is able to mentor and shape the next generation of chefs.

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is extremely proud of its full entertainment destination in Burnaby. Realizing the importance of giving back to the community in which it operates, Grand Villa Casino donated $90,000 to charitable and non-profit organizations in 2016 and since opening has contributed over $145 million to its host local government.

This year, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the business of entertainment and is excited to build on its past towards a bigger, bolder future.
